Gems Video

Standard

gems and beadsgems zentangle

There are all these beautiful Zentangle Inspired works appearing in the groups on FB and it’s all about these wonderful “Gems”  I first saw the gems made by Kae Yoshino, and the tutorials on that blog.  A few members of my Facebook group were asking for a video – I searched and just couldn’t find one so….I made a quick one.  Keep in mind that how I make the gems is just one of the techniques out there and there are many.   I hope it helps.   There is also a new ebook from Eni Oken – you can find it on her blog.

Gnome Home Listing

I’m so excited to be able to offer my work as coloring pages and I would be really thrilled to see how they’re getting colored in, so please let me know if you do!  And thanks for the request, Barb!

How I draw Mooka

Standard

I recently did a few pieces that have the tanglepattern Mooka in them…..this has been a pattern I’ve struggled with and I think I’ve finally become comfortable with the way I do them now.  I had a request from a few members of my Facebook Group, For The Love of Doodling, to show how I draw them in my next video.  Mission accomplished – I hope it helps some.

Flowering Mooka

I’d love to hear what you think and if you have any video requests, please feel free to comment – if I can, I will try to help.  Thanks for reading and watching!

Ryukin

Standard

One of my Best Friends loves fish…..and has a birthday in March.  This year I made up my mind to make her one of Ben Kwok’s awesome templates.  I’m very happy with how it turned out and she loved it.  And this morning it’s featured over on a group at Redbubble – a really nice way to start out my Monday and week.

Shading with Pen….or what I do with those Old Microns

Standard

A lot of us that Zentangle or Doodle use Micron pens.  And if you do use Micron pens, you know how easy it is for those nibs to get crushed if you exert too much pressure on them.  And if you’re as addicted to this art form as many of us are….you know we go through a lot of pens.  Don’t throw out those pens that are a little past their prime – there is still some life left in them!

If you like my videos, I would sure appreciate it if you subscribed and shared them – thank you so much!

It’s another snowy day in the Northeast, and I’m perfectly fine with it.  I don’t mind the snow and I know I’ll look back on the winter fondly when the heat of the summer sets in.  Today was not only make a video day, but I did finish a project I had been working on, too

watermarked March

I did this piece on Rendr No Show Thru paper and I’m not a fan.  First, this paper has a weird grayish cast to it.  It does indeed not bleed thru, but the paper is on the thin side.  It hasn’t won me over from my Strathmore Bristol Vellum at all.  I’m happy with the way the actual work came out – I just wish it was on Bristol.

I don’t think Winter is really done with us yet, March is certainly sweeping in here like a Lion!
