I have a group on FB, For the Love of Tangling, that’s been a lot of fun and it’s a wonderful group of people. We were having weekly challenges, but that was a little too much, so we’ve now gone to Monthly Challenges. My inspiration for July’s Challenge was a tile I started at CZT Seminiar, one of the pre-strung Zendalas.
I finished it this morning and Viola! July’s Zendala Challenge is born!
Patterns used here are Poke Leaf, Diva Dance Rock N’ Roll, and Betweed. Come on over and join us in the group and you can participate in the challenge! With a whole month to work on this, we should have a photo album just brimming with amazing! Do one – do more than one – prestrung, your own design, a template….go for it. Show us your Zendalas!
I was able to complete the last two classes for the Derwent Academy Class and just received my Graduation email this morning – I’ve made my choice of 24 Inktense pencils! This class is a great introduction to drawing, painting and pastels and well worth the time. Of course, you may end up buying some Derwent supplies….but they are excellent products so it’s a win/win in my book. There website is chock-full of information as well, so have a look around!

I’ve been working on some more organic tangles lately and having a lot of fun with that. We had some wicked storms come through the last two nights and last night we lost power around 6pm. It was back before 10, but imagine how upset I was trying to figure out a way to keep drawing – I have a Mighty Bright Vusion and it clipped nicely onto my sketching board. To think I wasn’t too happy with that little light when I originally purchased it for my needlepoint frame. We are supposed to be getting more storms today, so fingers crossed we don’t lose power again, but if we do at least I can keep busy with that little light in use. It has a little stand as well, so if I wanted to be knitting I could have placed it on the arm of my chair and knit away!
Today’s finished project……
Tangled Butterfly, template by Ben Kwok. I do like butterflies, but this was a little challenging just trying to use patterns that I felt fit well.
School is finally done – it was nice to start the weekend without having to think about how fast it was going to go by before work on Monday. I’m going to really try to make the most of this time off, concentrate on some house projects, some weaving, some traveling and of course, some tangling!
I really appreciate the comments on my last few posts – thank you for stopping by and having a look around!
