How I draw Mooka

Standard

I recently did a few pieces that have the tanglepattern Mooka in them…..this has been a pattern I’ve struggled with and I think I’ve finally become comfortable with the way I do them now.  I had a request from a few members of my Facebook Group, For The Love of Doodling, to show how I draw them in my next video.  Mission accomplished – I hope it helps some.

I’d love to hear what you think and if you have any video requests, please feel free to comment – if I can, I will try to help.  Thanks for reading and watching!

One of my Best Friends loves fish…..and has a birthday in March.  This year I made up my mind to make her one of Ben Kwok’s awesome templates.  I’m very happy with how it turned out and she loved it.  And this morning it’s featured over on a group at Redbubble – a really nice way to start out my Monday and week.

Just Like That

Standard

What a week!  Getting back into the swing of things after the Holidays was just not that easy this year.  Back to work, Back to “normal” just isn’t what it used to be.  I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to see a Friday arrive – I hope next week is a little better, but I suspect it’s going to be just as hectic and crazy!

With all the crazy, stressfulness of the week, I was making a point of tangling each day – such a great stress reliever and it doesn’t take a lot of time – a few minutes here and there add up and pretty soon, you have a finished piece.

Patterns – Featherfall, Indy-Rella and my Cirque with a twist to it – Cirque-Flake.

This was done in my little 5.5 x 5.5 inch Global Arts HandbookSketchbook of Strings that I talk about in one of my video.  I love that little book and recently ordered a rectangular version to start working in.  Global Arts Handbook are wonderful quality sketchbooks, I highly recommend them.  Quality paper, very well made and they will lay flat, which makes it easier for me to work in them.  This little 5.5×5.5 is easy to tuck into my bag, so I take it everywhere with me.  I used my new Derwent Graphik Line Maker pens which are just amazing.  I love these pens and they are wonderful to work with – they come in a set of 6, different size nibs and are so smooth going on the paper.  They nibs seem a bit sturdier than the Sakura Microns, though I still love my Microns.  The also come in a pretty carrying case, so you can easily tuck them into your back and have a nice set of pens to take with.

I’m approaching a milestone on my Youtube channel – so close to 100 subscribers!  I’m at 98 right now….so, so close!  I appreciate the support and all those who’ve taken the time to watch my videos and leave me comments – you’re all so kind and encouraging!  This weekend I’ll be making a few more videos and I hope you’ll check in – even better, subscribe and you’ll get notice when new videos come out.

This weekend there is nothing I HAVE to do…well, except the food shopping – you need food.  But nothing else.  Over the Christmas Break I received three DVD’s from Tiffany Lovering – I was a winner in her giveaway!  This weekend I think I’ll finally get to watch them and play around with what I’m sure I’ll be learning.

What are you doing this weekend?

One of the Last Sheep of the Year

Standard

I had two more sheep to make to complete the calendar for 2015 (not to mention ideas for the next calendar, but they’ll happen in 2015) and one of them was this Happy New Year to Ewe.

Tangled New Years Sheep web

There is a very faint background of fireworks around her….this is of course, January’s Sheep ;)  She is available singly and in the Calendar at Redbubble.

I’m glad I was able to get them done – the last one was a St. Patrick’s Day sheep….stay tuned for that post.  Of course it didn’t help that I came down sick on Sunday – fever, cough and now a doctors visit today.  I know if I don’t go, I’ll be wishing I did around Christmas morning.  I hear this is going around like crazy, whatever “IT” is, but I’m just hoping to start feeling better as quickly as it came up on me.  This just goes to show – no matter how much I take vitamins, how much I wash my hands, those sneaky little germs get through.  Grrrrr!

I hope you have a lovely, healthy, happy, Merry Christmas!

ETA: Just had my first rude comment since I started this here blog, so I guess I’ve been quite fortunate.  For those of you who enjoy reading, seeing the art work – thanks for sticking around.  If you don’t, just move on.  I don’t tolerate rude, non-constructive comments.   You’re basically just saying something for the sake of being mean.  You don’t have to like the blog, my art or anything I do.  And you certainly don’t have to stick around and see anymore.  Carry on and Happy Holidays.
