So Close!

This time next week, my friend Karen and I will be on a Road-Trip to Providence, Rhode Island to attend the CZT Seminar #20!   Soooooo excited.  We have been waiting since November when we signed up and it seemed so far away then.  I’ll be really thrilled to add the “CZT” after my name soon!

Two more coloring pages completed this week –

If you had to choose – which one would you like to see uploaded into my etsy shop first?  They will be available in PDF format, which seems to be universally available, priced at $1.50 each.  Instantly downloadable so you can get coloring or filling with tangle patterns right away!

Dragonfly

Here is a WIP…..I’ve a little more to do on it, but this will be the first of what I hope are many new coloring pages.

I’m not sure whether to offer the pages individually, but still include them in book form when I have enough of them, making the book more economical?  And the learning curve on editing is getting better – it takes a bit of time, but hopefully that will improve.  This, of course, isn’t really edited or cleaned up.

Let me know what you think!

I will be listing several more in the coming weeks as soon as I prepare them for downloading.  I’m excited to see if people enjoy these as much as I enjoy making them, so if you do get one, please let me know how you like it!

So Much News!

Standard

Wow – the time has gone by in a blink!  So much going on this past month and I think I’m finally caught up.  Exciting things!

First, I was approached about being in a Collaboration Coloring Book project with other artists – I was excited but apprehensive about such a big project, but ultimately, being part of this is only going to be a good thing!  I will be one of the artists in the 2nd Volume of Global Doodle Gems!  The 1st Volume should be released next month and the 2nd possibly in August!  I finished my contributions and sent them off yesterday.

The second really exciting thing that happened was another invitation to be in another book!  I will be among quite a few artists and their Tangle pattern Step Outs.  Five of my patterns will be included in the book, along with some artwork.  So excited for this as well – and hopefully that book will be available by Christmas.

Now with all this going on, I’ve got CZT Seminar coming up in two short weeks – my friend Karen and I are driving up to Rhode Island and we can’t wait.  With all the creativity, I’ve got tons of ideas floating around in my head for my OWN book and this is the beginning of that….

You’ll have to use your imagination a bit,  as the inking isn’t done.  I’m sorry to say I will be much more careful about the photo’s I’m posting and watermarking them – I’ve had a bit of a run in with people thinking my work on my FB page was FREE,  so much of the art there was taken down and will only be re-uploaded when it’s all been watermarked.  I don’t like watermarking, I much preferred to upload low resolution, smaller photo’s but after having all of my work downloaded by a group of enthusiastic coloring page seekers (and honestly, who knows who else downloaded them) I think I have to be more cautious.

So, to sum up – Coloring Book, Tangle pattern Step Out Book,  CZT training, compiling a good amount of pages for my own  book, the end of the school year (yay!) and then its SUMMER VACATION!  Whooohoooo!  I have a copy of Elements 13 I need to learn how to use for more professional editing of my artwork (help!) and lot’s of sketchbooks to fill, not to mention, I’d like to make a few more videos – what would you all like to see next?

Ryukin

One of my Best Friends loves fish…..and has a birthday in March.  This year I made up my mind to make her one of Ben Kwok’s awesome templates.  I’m very happy with how it turned out and she loved it.  And this morning it’s featured over on a group at Redbubble – a really nice way to start out my Monday and week.

How To Transfer Templates/images for Tangling

Standard

I see this question come up frequently in the Doodle/Zentangle groups on Facebook – how do you transfer templates for Tangling?  In this video, I go over two methods – one simple and inexpensive, the other with a lightpad.  There are many methods you can use, but these are the two I that I use – Hope you find it helpful to see how it’s done!

Just Like That

Standard

What a week!  Getting back into the swing of things after the Holidays was just not that easy this year.  Back to work, Back to “normal” just isn’t what it used to be.  I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to see a Friday arrive – I hope next week is a little better, but I suspect it’s going to be just as hectic and crazy!

With all the crazy, stressfulness of the week, I was making a point of tangling each day – such a great stress reliever and it doesn’t take a lot of time – a few minutes here and there add up and pretty soon, you have a finished piece.

Patterns – Featherfall, Indy-Rella and my Cirque with a twist to it – Cirque-Flake.

This was done in my little 5.5 x 5.5 inch Global Arts HandbookSketchbook of Strings that I talk about in one of my video.  I love that little book and recently ordered a rectangular version to start working in.  Global Arts Handbook are wonderful quality sketchbooks, I highly recommend them.  Quality paper, very well made and they will lay flat, which makes it easier for me to work in them.  This little 5.5×5.5 is easy to tuck into my bag, so I take it everywhere with me.  I used my new Derwent Graphik Line Maker pens which are just amazing.  I love these pens and they are wonderful to work with – they come in a set of 6, different size nibs and are so smooth going on the paper.  They nibs seem a bit sturdier than the Sakura Microns, though I still love my Microns.  The also come in a pretty carrying case, so you can easily tuck them into your back and have a nice set of pens to take with.

I’m approaching a milestone on my Youtube channel – so close to 100 subscribers!  I’m at 98 right now….so, so close!  I appreciate the support and all those who’ve taken the time to watch my videos and leave me comments – you’re all so kind and encouraging!  This weekend I’ll be making a few more videos and I hope you’ll check in – even better, subscribe and you’ll get notice when new videos come out.

This weekend there is nothing I HAVE to do…well, except the food shopping – you need food.  But nothing else.  Over the Christmas Break I received three DVD’s from Tiffany Lovering – I was a winner in her giveaway!  This weekend I think I’ll finally get to watch them and play around with what I’m sure I’ll be learning.

What are you doing this weekend?
