One of my Best Friends loves fish…..and has a birthday in March. This year I made up my mind to make her one of Ben Kwok’s awesome templates. I’m very happy with how it turned out and she loved it. And this morning it’s featured over on a group at Redbubble – a really nice way to start out my Monday and week.
I see this question come up frequently in the Doodle/Zentangle groups on Facebook – how do you transfer templates for Tangling? In this video, I go over two methods – one simple and inexpensive, the other with a lightpad. There are many methods you can use, but these are the two I that I use – Hope you find it helpful to see how it’s done!
What a week! Getting back into the swing of things after the Holidays was just not that easy this year. Back to work, Back to “normal” just isn’t what it used to be. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to see a Friday arrive – I hope next week is a little better, but I suspect it’s going to be just as hectic and crazy!
With all the crazy, stressfulness of the week, I was making a point of tangling each day – such a great stress reliever and it doesn’t take a lot of time – a few minutes here and there add up and pretty soon, you have a finished piece.
Patterns – Featherfall, Indy-Rella and my Cirque with a twist to it – Cirque-Flake.
This was done in my little 5.5 x 5.5 inch Global Arts Handbook, Sketchbook of Strings that I talk about in one of my video. I love that little book and recently ordered a rectangular version to start working in. Global Arts Handbook are wonderful quality sketchbooks, I highly recommend them. Quality paper, very well made and they will lay flat, which makes it easier for me to work in them. This little 5.5×5.5 is easy to tuck into my bag, so I take it everywhere with me. I used my new Derwent Graphik Line Maker pens which are just amazing. I love these pens and they are wonderful to work with – they come in a set of 6, different size nibs and are so smooth going on the paper. They nibs seem a bit sturdier than the Sakura Microns, though I still love my Microns. The also come in a pretty carrying case, so you can easily tuck them into your back and have a nice set of pens to take with.
I’m approaching a milestone on my Youtube channel – so close to 100 subscribers! I’m at 98 right now….so, so close! I appreciate the support and all those who’ve taken the time to watch my videos and leave me comments – you’re all so kind and encouraging! This weekend I’ll be making a few more videos and I hope you’ll check in – even better, subscribe and you’ll get notice when new videos come out.
This weekend there is nothing I HAVE to do…well, except the food shopping – you need food. But nothing else. Over the Christmas Break I received three DVD’s from Tiffany Lovering - I was a winner in her giveaway! This weekend I think I’ll finally get to watch them and play around with what I’m sure I’ll be learning.
What are you doing this weekend?
Upon checking my archives today, I realized that I’ve had this blog for Ten years! That’s amazing! I simply can’t believe it. In appreciation for the support, I’m having a little Give-away. My way of saying thank you to the readers who’ve stuck by me, who humor me, who might scroll through when they don’t find too much of interest – thanks. You’ve been wonderful to me over these Ten years.
So, for putting up with me for TEN! YEARS! I’ll be choosing 3 winners via random number generator. Leave a comment and I’ll put your name in the hat. Share it on your blog, Facebook, etc and let me know and I’ll throw your name in again. The winners will get their choice of an 8 x 10 print from my Tangled Art – you can view them on Redbubble. The Give-away will run from now until this blogs Anniversary date – January 1, 2015. I’ll announce the winners January 2nd. Thanks so much – I know I can switch gears with my obsessions, but I truly appreciate each and every one of you.
I couldn’t find a new video for my group this morning, so….what’s an admin to do? Make one! Here is my demonstration on how to draw my first tanglepattern, Archer
I hope you find it helpful. Please subscribe to my channel and give me a thumbs up – I appreciate it!
This Flock looks out for the underdog….
While I was working on a new ornament the other day, I was in such a zone……and when I snapped to, I had a new pattern. Which is really a favorite pattern of mine to do, these little plumy type leaves. You’ll see them in lots of my work, but this one evolved into this…
I’m really pleased with this – and I think I’ve finally found my feature tangle that I’ll be putting on some more ornaments soon…I’d love to see what you do with it!
I’ve been steadily working to get ready for my first art show in December…I think I’m moving along at a good pace and I hope I won’t be too frantic as we get closer. Once I finish my ornaments, I’ll be doing the final drawings on some more Sheep…yes, there are more and I’m hoping to get a Calendar in the works before December – I might be cutting that close.
Some of my ceramic ornaments – these are very bisque-like…
And I’ve finished one gourd so far….
Today is a rainy, blustery day here in the Northeast, so I’ll be hunkering down and getting more done. Enjoy the weekend!
