I’ve been thinking I should have a place to work and store my art supplies – I have a studio which houses my looms, yarn, fabric and Jewelry bench. I just didn’t have a place to really spread out and work in that room.
Well, that’s all changed now…..
DH took the made the long ride to Ikea yesterday to get my Anniversary Gift and I was able to get the table, corner table and that awesome drawer unit, along with the chair and two smaller mesh draw units. I spent the rest of the day assembling it all…..I managed to dent the straight table so I have another on order and I’ll use that one as my cutting table. I will be moving the big, antique dresser out of this room as well and it will give me a place to use as a cutting table, warping winder table, steamer table…I’ll be storing my fabric under that in something – not sure what yet. But getting the heavy dark furniture out of the room really makes a difference. I moved my Jewelry bench out of that corner – I always work with a light when I use it and it just made sense to put my art center near the windows. I’m really happy with it – I need to get a lamp over there for when the light’s not so great and replace my area rug, but that’s on order too. That mobile chest of drawers is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. and so worth the money. I cannot believe how I lived without it!
After spending all day yesterday building and moving and arranging, I finally sat down at my new table, surrounded by my sheep and started making.
Some of my Snowflake Ornaments…ready to add the ribbon.
It’s so relaxing to have a space other than the arm of my couch to do some art and you can’t beat the view…
I still have my screen in…..the afternoons were getting warm, but I think that’s going to change fast now.
Have a wonderful week!
My favorite season is Fall. I just love the cool, crisp air, the colors, summer winding down and ushering in more comfortable weather…not that this summer was a hot one, by any means, but Summer is my least favorite weather season. I love Fall and I’m in like with most Winters. Spring is ok.
This weekend is supposed to be on the warm side for Fall, but the nights are cool and that’s alright with me. I’m really looking forward to starting October next week….love Halloween and I’ve got some new projects to decorate with this year…
This was just a White Craft pumpkin I bought at Michaels, which was 40% off already and I used a Black Identipen to draw the designs. I have a few of the larger Black Pumpkins that I will be using white pen on. This was fun and quick!
Yesterday I finally finished the shading on this free-form design…I’ve been working on it for a few weeks here and there….
I’ll be scanning and uploading this to my Redbubble page sometime this weekend – today is going to be busy, busy…..cleaning, running errands, a visit from our Son and Girlfriend later on….lots to do! ETA: Now available on Redbubble!
And a thank you for letting me vent and get that off my chest last week. I try not to use this blog as a soapbox/ranting raving place but I just really needed to get that out. It’s funny – one of my defenders contacted both women who were so careless in pointing the finger at me – the one who actually put my name out there was so offhand about it, no apology and totally didn’t own what she did, of course. Even went so far as to say she didn’t do what we all saw her do and she had the nerve to say she thought my reputation was fine. I’m glad she thinks so, and I’m sure it will be. But her reputation? Not so much.
Have a Great Weekend!

This is the twelfth sheep in this series…..I’m sure I will do more and probably work towards doing a calendar. I would like to add some Holiday sheep in, and some occasions as well. But I’ve done a sheep a day for the last little while, and I have some other commissioned work I want to get done, my Derwent Academy classes to finish and some tutorials on colorwork I want to study. I’d like to add some colored pieces to the collection. As it is, I have a decent amount of original work done for the show in September, so anything I add now will be a bonus. As with anything you see here or on Redbubble, the originals are for sale. Just contact me and we will work out the details.
There are some talented Sheep around here…..this Ewe can Spin!!!

It is so nice to be able to incorporate my favorite things to do into these Tangles. I would love to be able to somehow have a sheep weaving, too. I do have a preliminary sketch of a “zen” sheep meditating….and another of a Mama Ewe watching over her sleeping lamb.
I’m fortunate to have the time to give to this project and I’m going to try to use every moment wisely. These summers off fly by so fast.
I’ve gotten a lot of new followers and likes but no comments…..please don’t forget I’m having a contest and I think I’d be really embarrassed if I didn’t have any participants. Go. Comment…..Please?
