I’ve had a few requests to demonstrate how I shade my Doodles, Zentangles etc. I finally sat down and made the video but keep in mind, this is how I do it….there are plenty of tutorials and books out there and you should definitely check them all out – tools in the toolbox, you can never have too many.
In other news, I’ve been jumping around my knitting projects – had a little disheartening experience with a pattern I purchased and subsequently, the shine has worn off the project for now. Since I purchased not just the pattern but the yarn as well, I will probably make it, but really, when you pay for a pattern and find an error (it happens, right?) the least I would expect is to have the designer make the correction. We all make mistakes, but to insist that your project IS right, when clearly several people have asked the same question and made the same corrections FOR YOU….sheesh is all I can say. Moving on, I’m knitting a quick shawly/poncho-y wonderfully warm doo-dad and since we’ve had a bit of snow, it will surely come in handy now.
Speaking of snow – all the hub-bub over the feet of snow we were supposed to get – well, even those weather forecasters can’t get it right all the time – I’m happy to have a snow day and not so much for my hubby to clean up – winning in my book. There are still those who got buried under the snow, but thankfully, not the blizzard conditions they were predicting. Stay safe and warm everyone!
I’ve just posted a new video for a variation on my pattern Cirque called Cirque-Flake. I guess the cold weather we’ve been having has been inspiring in some way.
Hope you enjoy it, thanks for watching, thumbs up and subscribing! I have more videos planned so stay tuned.
What a week! Getting back into the swing of things after the Holidays was just not that easy this year. Back to work, Back to “normal” just isn’t what it used to be. I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to see a Friday arrive – I hope next week is a little better, but I suspect it’s going to be just as hectic and crazy!
With all the crazy, stressfulness of the week, I was making a point of tangling each day – such a great stress reliever and it doesn’t take a lot of time – a few minutes here and there add up and pretty soon, you have a finished piece.
Patterns – Featherfall, Indy-Rella and my Cirque with a twist to it – Cirque-Flake.
This was done in my little 5.5 x 5.5 inch Global Arts Handbook, Sketchbook of Strings that I talk about in one of my video. I love that little book and recently ordered a rectangular version to start working in. Global Arts Handbook are wonderful quality sketchbooks, I highly recommend them. Quality paper, very well made and they will lay flat, which makes it easier for me to work in them. This little 5.5×5.5 is easy to tuck into my bag, so I take it everywhere with me. I used my new Derwent Graphik Line Maker pens which are just amazing. I love these pens and they are wonderful to work with – they come in a set of 6, different size nibs and are so smooth going on the paper. They nibs seem a bit sturdier than the Sakura Microns, though I still love my Microns. The also come in a pretty carrying case, so you can easily tuck them into your back and have a nice set of pens to take with.
I’m approaching a milestone on my Youtube channel – so close to 100 subscribers! I’m at 98 right now….so, so close! I appreciate the support and all those who’ve taken the time to watch my videos and leave me comments – you’re all so kind and encouraging! This weekend I’ll be making a few more videos and I hope you’ll check in – even better, subscribe and you’ll get notice when new videos come out.
This weekend there is nothing I HAVE to do…well, except the food shopping – you need food. But nothing else. Over the Christmas Break I received three DVD’s from Tiffany Lovering – I was a winner in her giveaway! This weekend I think I’ll finally get to watch them and play around with what I’m sure I’ll be learning.
What are you doing this weekend?
According to the Chinese Zodiac, starting February 19, 2015 will the The Year of the Sheep(goat/ram). So, you still have plenty of time to order and receive your very own Tangled Sheep 2015 Calendar!
Tangled Sheep 2015 on Redbubble. Click through to see what each months sheep is. Thanks!
Roseanne, Carol McNab and Joanne Smith! Thanks everyone for participating! I’ve emailed the winners and I’ll be mailing their Tangled Art out as soon as I hear back from them. This was a lot of fun, I definitely should have more give-aways 🙂
I’ve put another video together, this one is demonstrating my tangle pattern O-Cee. Give it a try and let me know how you like it.
I’d love it if you would subscribe to my channel and give a thumbs up – comments are always appreciated as well. I’m trying to establish my channel in advance of my CZT seminar in June – I’d love to be able to point students to the channel to help them out after classes.
I hope your Holidays were Merry and the New Year brings you much Health, Happiness and Creativity. My house was hit with the silly flu/thingermabob that was going around, be we still managed to enjoy ourselves. I’m busy planning, tangling, doodling and knitting. Work starts back up on Monday for me. I’m hoping to keep up with my Tangle-a-Day Calendar as well – my plan is to take one tangle a day alphabetically from Tanglepatterns.com….but plans always change and evolve so who knows where that’s going to take me. What are your plans?
