Wooohooooo! A real, honest to goodness snow storm! Really, our first one this winter. Now I know there are plenty of you out there who are just sick and tired of the huge amounts of snow you’ve gotten this year. I’m hoping you don’t get any of this. But we are having our first official Storm – there are about 4 inches out there already! And – schools closed. But this time – not just for ICE. Although they are saying we can get some of the ice later, which is scary. But mostly snow.
The dog was even a bit delirious when she sent out this morning – running in circles, stopping to look at me with this LOOK IT’S REALLY SNOW look on her face. Too funny.
I needed a day to catch up on paperwork for the business and to fiddle faddle around with all my knits – I’m seriously thinking of adding one to the queue, but that just would be too much, wouldn’t it??? Anyway, even if I don’t – Gale is out as a pattern for those of you who didn’t catch it yet.
I would like to get another repeat of Hypoteneuse done and work on Twinings some more – I’m about to start the 5th out of 15 and I would feel good if I was able to get one or two done today – it takes me about an hour to do one repeat on this so that would give me about 11 more hours of knitting on this. It is just wonderful to knit though and I haven’t gotten tired or bored of it yet.
I know, it looks different from last photo – it just didn’t seem right with the Lion and Lamb. So I recast on for it with Jo Sharp Silkroad DK – it is going to be the warm wrap-around me knit that I wanted. Now – what to do with the three skeins of L&L that I’ve been hanging onto? It may just become another Clapotis as I had originally planned…
I don’t know if you can see in the photo – but that Light green strip that is laying across my pattern? That’s a PatternTamer and it is a wonderful find! They come in a set of three and I’ve been using mine for a few weeks now – I can honestly say they are worth every penny and I haven’t lost my place once since I started using them. A great Etsy seller and one you should go check out right now!!
Thank you again for all the well wishes that keep coming through for Schmoo. He is still home. He had his weekly visit with the doctor and she still doesn’t like the way his Liver counts look – mostly because his resistance is so low and she doesn’t want him to catch anything else. So he’s home for the next week – and he is supposed to be getting Home Instruction. ahem. Let’s not go there. Suffice it to say, I may have to get on my bitch shoes and do some bitch walking and talking. I hate doing that, but I have been known to do it when necessary. Fortunately, I have collegues that keep me well versed on my childs rights in the education field and I have a lot of support that way. So I can be a bitch who knows what she’s talking about.
Tomorrow – knitting group and Lunch with Jeanne.
I’m having a contest! At first I was just going to ask everyone to guess how many Soup cans I have in my pantry. NOT. Actually, I would love to have a compilation of great Tools and Tips for Knitting to post on a page to this blog. So, start the commenting – send me your best or favorite Tool or Tip – I’ll take entries until next Friday, February 29th, midnight my time, and Announce the winners (yes winners) the following Friday. Put a link to this contest on YOUR blog and have your readers mention you in their comment – I’ll put another entry in for you. Prizes will be Yarn, A Shawl Pin and some Stitchmarkers – and a few surprizes thrown in for good measure.
