I’m Not Procrastinating Anymore

Standard

Keeping a to-do list has really helped with my big problem – Procrastination.  I was able to get not one…but three sheep drawings done yesterday, along with etching some ornaments, getting the guest rooms ready for holiday guests – yay!  You saw the Thanksgiving Sheep yesterday, but I had two more I needed to get done before the Art show December 6th…because it’s a Christmas show.

First up - Merry Christmas to Ewe

And lastly…for now...Let It Snow -

These are also available on Redbubble – and I was quite excited to see some sales already this morning!  Thank you, whomever you are – you made my day!  These designs are all available as Prints, Cards, Stickers, Pillows, Tote bags.  I didn’t enable phone covers, mugs and travel cups, but drop me a note if you would like them available that way.  I’m working very hard to try to get the last few designs I have in mind done and uploaded so I can get a Calendar available – I’ve had a few requests for that, so I’m going to give it a try.  Thanks again – the support means so much!

Do Ewe Love Fall?

Standard

I do…it’s my favorite time of year.  Today was the perfect day to sit down and complete this lastest Sheep in the Flock…

Do Ewe Love Fall web

Do you Love Fall, available on Redbubble in prints, cards, totes, stickers etc…go on and have a look.

I’ve wanted to get to this for a bit now – the sketch has been done for a while, but I’ve been busily preparing for that Christmas show.  I have two winter sheep ready to ink – one for the Holidays and one representing winter.  I’m hoping to get a Calendar done by mid-November.  Fingers crossed.

And a little public service announcement.  You know you’ve seen me mention Tanglepatterns.com….well it’s that time of year – the Annual Request for Assistance.  It’s a much loved  resource for many, many people and Linda needs our help to keep it going.  You know, she runs that place by herself!  So go on over and see what you can do to help out – and spread the word –  I know it’s the first place I recommend to anyone who wants to get started in Zentangle and I know others do the same – lets keep it going.  Every bit counts!

Cirque

Standard

While I was working on a new ornament the other day, I was in such a zone……and when I snapped to, I had a new pattern.  Which is really a favorite pattern of mine to do, these little plumy type leaves.  You’ll see them in lots of my work, but this one evolved into this…

Cirque for submission to tangle patterns

I’m really pleased with this – and I think I’ve finally found my feature tangle that I’ll be putting on some more ornaments soon…I’d love to see what you do with it!

I’ve been steadily working to get ready for my first art show in December…I think I’m moving along at a good pace and I hope I won’t be too frantic as we get closer.  Once I finish my ornaments, I’ll be doing the final drawings on some more Sheep…yes, there are more and I’m hoping to get a Calendar in the works before December – I might be cutting that close.

Some of my ceramic ornaments – these are very bisque-like…

And I’ve finished one gourd so far….

Today is a rainy, blustery day here in the Northeast, so I’ll be hunkering down and getting more done.  Enjoy the weekend!

When I don’t draw on Paper

Standard

I’ll pretty much draw on anything.  One of the first things I doodled on besides paper was wood.  And these are destined to become some new Drop Spindles for the Sheep and Wool show in September.  My DH does the woodturning.

I’ve also taken to doodling on wood boxes, french ivory…..canvas bags…..I’m thinking no blank surface is safe.  What do you doodle on?

Colorful Enough?

Standard

My intent was to use my new, Big Box of 64 Gelly Rolls to color this in.  But while I was sorting the new, Big Box of 64 Gelly Rolls and making the color chart they conveniently give you……I saw how maybe I wouldn’t be able to control the amount of color I was putting down.

So I chickened out.

I decided to still use color, but dug into my Irotijen colored pencils and my little jar of mineral spirits instead.

Flowing Flowers in Color

When I tell you the colors are “off” believe me.  There is more coral in that then is showing and for the life of me I cannot edit it to have it show.  Sigh.  The original is so much richer and not as neony.  I’m not sure if I will regularly be adding color to my work, but this was a nice change.  And it really is more time consuming….before I knew it, 4 o’clock had rolled around.

So I have a few editing programs – inkscape, gimp, paintshop pro…….any recommendation, tips, techniques, out and out yelling at me to do this or do that??? I’ll take it.  This was so frustrating to try to get an accurate representation of, I gave up.  pfffft!  Obviously I don’t know how to use any of the programs I have to do what I want.  Very different for me from editing photos.

Have a Wonderful Weekend and Happy Doodling!

Flowing Flowers

Standard

I drew this with the intent of adding some color…..but I’m such a chicken.  Uploaded and saved this Black Pen version because, well, I’m a chicken.

Flowing Flowers, on Redbubble

Whenever I upload something on Redbubble, I end up disabling a few products, but this time, I let ‘er rip…..and this really looks so nice on the Pillow.  I might have to get that myself.

Our Facebook Group is really taking off – we are close to 250 members already and I’m polling to see how many of the members want the group to convert to closed. (the group will always accept new members, just limits what non-members can see)  Come on over and join us – we are such an inspiring, supportive group and it’s a great place to get started!

The summer is quickly coming to a close….I don’t know if I’m ready to get back to the routine!
