Green Periot Millefiori Stitchmarkers
As much as I love the winter and really enjoy those days off due to snow, I think I’m feeling a little restless for some spring color – and I think it may be reflected in my color choices on my lastest markers and pins. I really, really love this Millefiori glass, and the colors are some of my very favorites.

Nugold Kilt Pin – Aqua Floral
It’s even reflecting in my latest sock yarn purchase from Sophies Toes - Emily had an update the other night, and, along with Jeanne, I’m in awe at the yarn itself and the quantities that get sold in such a short time! I did look at the preview photo earlier and knew I wanted the greens, and as soon as Jeanne and I signed off IM, it came up for sale – and was promptly purchased! It arrived today. Along with my order from Fire Mountain Gems – I’m branching out a bit in my selections of beads and I’m really happy with these selections – I can’t wait to get to work on some new pins. And they have terrific customer service – I had a little oops in my order and they’ve promptly corrected it and are now shipping it out to me – Fed-EX.
The CPH is really coming along – the back and both fronts are done and I’m sailing to sleeve island right now – sorry about the lack of photo’s – I’m a little tired this week, and lazy, and the mere idea of setting up a photo right now is the farthest thing from my mind. I will catch up with that – but really – do you need to see the parts or would you just rather wait for the finished sweater? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
And at the Knitting Nelly Blog, I did find this really neat way of doing a jogless bind off – and like the author says – I’m sure I’m the last one to the party on this – but I’ve even asked people about how to get rid of that jog and been told it’s impossible – so I pass this on to you, just in case you didn’t know it either – makes so much sense when you see this, yes? I thought so.
Also, I have to give the folks at Etsy so much credit – they had a rather unscrupulous happening this week, that was handled superbly by the administration – really makes you glad to be a part of something that cares about both it’s Sellers and Buyers. I don’t want to get into too much detail here – suffice it to say there were mulitple purchases from some shops that just weren’t the real thing. Etsy handled it with such speed and professionalism – I’m truly impressed. Other great news at Etsy – go give a look see and some encouragement/support to knitty peep Laurie and her brand new Etsy shop, Lima Pop Shoppe - her markers are just beautiful (and I know, I’ve seen them up close!!)

But since stupid wordpress (yes, you heard me wordpress, pffft!) won’t give me the upload box for photo’s, you’ll have to wander on over to the Etsy Shop to see if I’m telling the truth. I have to apologize for the huge upload today – but I really don’t think I’m going to have the time to do a few a day like I had planned – we visit the TaxMan next weekend and I think I’ll be busy trying to get my stuff together for that.
And what is the deal with wordpress and the sometime ability to upload photo’s with their own photo browser. First, it never worked for me. Then, boom, I had the box and used it pretty regularly. Now, today? Not so much. No matter how many times I refresh, sign in, sign out, stand on my head and wiggle my fingers. Nothin. If you have a clue, fill me in – I love to know the source of my fustration and hope it’s not my own inability to do something. It could be a rather simple explanation, I know. Or it could be an elaborate scheme, thunked up by Rox, because she know’s I’m so going to try to get her back for burning my retina’s with that image at the end of her last blog post – thanks Rox – I can see it when I have my eyes closed!
I’ve been getting some knitting done on the CPH – I would show you a photo, but, well, see above’s rant. I’m now on the right front and will head into sleeve island before too long. I’m really loving how this is knitting up, although I wish I thought to figure out how to knit it in one piece – really regretting that decision the closer I’m getting to assemblage. Damn me.
Other than that and our unexpected N’oreaster yesterday and subsequent Snow Day (yay), I’m out.
Although, I do have one more question. WTF is with that new Pregnancy Test commercial that, ahem, simulates peeing on the stick? Am I the only one that thinks, ewww, not the way to sell it guys?

A Finished Sharfik for DH. Two Skeins of Malabrigo in Olive – not blocked, not allowed to block it, but it was worn while there was cold weather in the area.
Thanks to all of you who were so kind and caring during my sick little cranky episode. I’m feeling better now, if not all the way recovered – well on the way. I am home again today – but that’s because my youngest was experiencing the joys of a stomach virus last night and although he’s old enough to stay home alone, I just can’t leave a puking kid alone – there so much that’s wrong with that and I just won’t do it. Thankfully, it seems to be short lived and I may have jumped the gun on staying home, but you can never see how these things are going to unfold.
I will put the time to good use – pack up some orders to ship out, work on the Left Front on CPH, because here is the back……

That’s Tahki Donegal Tweed. Very wonderful. I can see how it would be difficult to seam, so I have been slipping the first stitch on each row to make things a bit easier come seaming time. I’m really hoping to have this finished in the next two weeks. I did have to come down a needle size from an 8 to a 7 – I’m usually spot on with my gauge, but not so much this time. And I don’t know why – it’s a gauge mystery. But I’ve learned to go with the gauge.
Meetup on Saturday was a blast. We had quite a nice group show up and we even had the priviledge of meeting Laurie’s mom!! She’s great and it was nice to be able to spend a little time with her. And a Big Thank YOu to Jeanne - not only did she organize a great group, but she is so supportive of me and was nice enough to give this a new home. We really have a great group of ladies and it’s nice to be able to get out of the house, not have to worry about cleaning or cooking or corraling dogs or pets out of the way (not to mention poor husbands and kids!) and meet for a grown up time out. I love my kids, don’t get me wrong, but we really need to do something for ourselves – I really appreciate it that people leave the kiddo’s home and let the old folks have our time. And meeting at Panera is just perfect - food and fun – plus no cleaning up! I know some groups meet at yarn shops – but that just would take time away from my knitting and I would feel like I had to buy something all the time – which isn’t a bad thing, but I’m out to meet my friends and knit – not necessarily shop. The good thing is, even if you couldn’t be a part of our group - there is so much room to go off and start your own group and make it what you want it to be – or better yet, be part of more than one group! So get out there, join or start a MeetUp group of your own!
Did you see this exciting news?????? Go Check it out – I’m really looking forward to seeing how Eunny puts her own twist on this new venture and I wish her the best!
We are waiting on some good news in the work place for DH – keep a good thought if you don’t mind. I’ve learned that if we put the good karma out there, it’s going to find it’s way back, so any help with that would certainly be appreciated. I’ve seen more positive energy come our way by just changing my outlook to a more positive one. I’m going to stick with that. It’s all good…..

Blech. I have been sick. I have some sort of morphing cold/congestive ick with a stomach virus chaser that has kicked my ass this week. Poor me.
But it didn’t stop me from having a great yarn crawl with Laurie and Jeanne – go, check out their photo’s – I’m not posting any right now. They would likely be blurry and covered with germs. But I did have a great time – and bought some nice yarn. You can’t beat that. Sunday things really started to ferment for me and I spent a lot of time knitting on DH’s Sharfik – so much that I finished it Sunday night. I haven’t had a chance to photograph it because it’s been around DH’s neck since Monday – he apparently is very happy with it. And Malabrigo is just the nicest yarn to knit with. Love it. Totally hooked. DH and DS went to Hunter Mt. Sunday to Monday to ski, and by the time they arrived home Monday, I was firmly ensconced in bed. Not having totally wasted my time – I finished the mate to the Baby Cable Rib socks from the yarn that Susie gifted me. Delicious yarn. I immediately cast on for another pair with Trekking Pro Natura – and I’m liking it so far. Tuesday I cast on for the Central Park Hoodie in the yarn I procured from Laurie, after she decided it wasn’t a good color on her (it so is, but hey, you can’t argue when someone is offering you yarn!) I did have to order two more skeins from WEBS, but they had the same lot and the yarn arrived Monday, so here I am, almost done with the back. I had thought of knitting this up in one piece, but could not entertain the simple task of figuring that out. And I mean simple. But Dayquil and Simple apparently don’t mix. Oh Check this out -Knitting Daily - it’s going to be coming out soon, (I hope so) sign up for your two free patterns.
I had a totally entertaining post compilied in my head for you – how I’m so tired of Rosie and could do without seeing the lastest crap she’s stirred up in the press. How A*azon is pissing me off a little with the way they are pricing their stuff, or letting other sellers price stuff – it’s not an auction site, or did I miss something? And their release dates are totally confusing me and a few others from what I’m reading. And then there’s a meme that Rox has started that I think I want to do. And it has nothing to do with World Peace or Miss America. And this is for Laurie and Jeanne because I was told I would get a dollar just for saying this on my blog. It’s Just a Fuckin “H” people. That’s all.
I WISH
- I had really enjoyed when I worked part time – what was I thinking?
- I stood up for myself, more, earlier on. I’m so gullible sometimes.
- my etsy shop emptied and people would wait for email updates from me on my next shop update!!!!!
- I could do what I love and quit my day job.
- I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.
- people would do what they say, when they say they will. This comes from me doing what I say when I say I will, and I realize it. But it still makes me wish it.
- I had a house cleaner. Free up more time for metal and fiber pursuits.
- for just one more snow day – I feel like we were gipped this winter. And I would gladly take some snow off anyone who was more than enough snow-wise this year – send it my way! It’s not spring yet…
- I had a box of chocolates.
And that’s all I have to say ’bout that.
